All of my photos are of common, everyday things that we share our wild and wooly backyard with.

I'm not sure which type are brilliant red with white eggs. (The ones I saw had white eggs but were more of an orange & black. Those were 'Brown Marmorated Stink' Bugs)
Hi! I also thought it might be a female yellow warbler but the beak shape (and color) seemed too different. They also seem to carry themselves differently (if that makes sense). The coloring on the female orchard oriole (which I'd not looked at before) certainly looks promising! The beak shape still may not match?
For what it is worth, I think these little guys are passing through the area. They are a great flash of yellow that I don't usually see.
I know these pictures make it pretty difficult to see especially without the back showing. I really appreciate the suggestions. Thanks so much!
I've finally managed to get a picture of the mother cardinal at the nest today (June 5, 2015) So I've added that to this spotting. She's NOT happy with how close I got this time, and stayed perfectly still hoping I could not see her.
Wow, thank you BugEric! I used to see these when I was a kid in/around NY but for the life of me could not think of what we called them (still cannot) so didn't have a starting point. This is one of the several little bug-a-boos that were active on my garden gate one day. All seemed to be there because of the ant/lacewing larva drama that was going on ( http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/370... ) I got the impression that this guy was hoping for the opportunity to swoop in and do something, but never really got the chance.
Thank you, BugEric
Beautiful pictures! He has such a great face! So different from the ones those wander through my backyard.
