I would be interested in knowing the species of this flowering shrub too - it grows around our house and attracts a lot of butterflies.

Thanks, Dan! I'm not sure if that ID is correct. At least I'm pretty sure the subfamily is correct but still not sure about the genus or species. I couldn't find enough info about scudderia to say for sure and I don't even know if any scudderia species are found in Brazil.
Yes, Chapada dos Veadeiros is an amazing place and well worth a visit if you ever come back to Brazil.
