How cute! Definitely a kind of Tussock caterpillar, but I wouldn't trust my own species ID with a ten foot pole so that's as far as I'll go, ha. :]

Haha, I know! I'd noticed brown gall growths on the junipers last winter but this is some sci-fi-lookin' nonsense

I'm starting to wonder if the awful growing conditions take a harsh toll on the plants in my yard in particular- teeny tiny berries and they seem to ripen at totally random times. I've never seen a vendor -selling- this particular type of gooseberry, though! Very cool! :]
