Sign In to followYour welcome. Though either I didn't catch it earlier or it's been changed, But the species should be Epidendrum radicans not E. ibaguense as far as I can tell.
I was at the Mombacho reserve a few days ago, and there was a whole field of them in bloom. The english name for them is Fiery Reed Orchid as far as I know. My guide said that in spanish they are called Banderita Española, which translates to "little Spanish flag", presumable because of the colors.
Thanks everybody, I have been pretty busy the last few months, so I have a big backlog of pictures for new spottings I need to start posting.

Interesting spotting. Had I seen the cocoon, I wouldn't have known what it was.
Desmond, thanks for the suggestion. The chest coloration is different and this was quite a bit smaller than the size given for the Amazon Kingfisher. It looks pretty similar to what a female Green Kingfisher should look like except that most descriptions say that the coppery colored area on my specimen should be white. I'm guessing that it's simply a color variation of female Green Kingfisher.
