Looks like some form of Skipper Butterfly
I think it might be the Eastern Milk Snake because of the coloring pattern, more specifically the Y on the head. Here is it's living range:

I believe both are the Marsh Frog. The Marsh frog ranges in color from green to brown, and have the characteristic line running down their back.
Judging by the picture I believe it is a Northern Water Snake. They are also rather aggressive compared to many other snakes of (at least Eastern) USA.
Based off the image it looks like it could be an Osage Orange, if that's not it could you give some details to help identify it?
