Thanks for the Id on this one too I kept thinking it was a spotted python but just didn't look right!
This guy was curled up, there's actually 2 there and yes I believe they keep their head out so they are ready in case something disturbs them, but he looked quite relaxed =)

Hey guys, sorry I haven't got any info on here yet, I will update it now =). I was only new to Project Noah when I uploaded most of my photos and didn't put much info in, but I'm slowly getting through them all and updating the details as well as adding more photos from the spotting. I only have one more exam for uni for the year (yay!) and then I will hopefully finish them all off =)

Shari_Wildlife Australian Water Dragon
Australian Water Dragon commented on by Shari_Wildlife Queensland, Australia12 years ago

That's the correct ID but they are more commonly called Eastern Water Dragon, the red belly would indicate that its a male, they use the colour to attract a female, many people see the red and think they are injured though =P

Yes it could also have some other cross, like you said they get out in the wild and cross with everything and then cause lots of problems, we have them "wild" at duck ponds here but much better kept as a pet =)

The chinese goose is a breed of domestic goose but thats definitely what it is, i have a 6 year old chinese goose as a pet and they are the best geese! So much character and he is so loyal, gives me cuddles and protects me from any "strangers" =)
