Stuart4 Huntsman spider
Huntsman spider commented on by Stuart4 MG, Brazil6 years ago

This is absolutely not a Phoneutria, sorry! It is instead one of the huntsmen spiders (family Sparassidae) as AshleyT below indicates. The eye arrangement here clearly indicates those over any Ctenidae. Otherwise, your location is too far south for P.fera, but there are other species in that genus in your zone, however, this is not any of those.

It is absolutely not Phoneutria, but seems to be another genus in same Family Ctenidae, many of which share very similar eye pattern. It's lovely, but not Phoneutria.

Stuart4 Banana Spider

Please remove the confusion with the Armed Wandering spider (Phoneutria nigriventer) from Southeastern Brazil. Unfortunately too many different types of spiders such as yours and those get mixed together under the far too vague term 'banana spider'

Stuart4 Wolf Spider

Please change the details, it is not Phoneutria, but something else in another family Lycosidae, as said below by 'wolf spider'

Stuart4 Wandering Spider

Sorry, no. This is Cupiennius getazi, they have different colour forms. These are all really poorly known in Nicaragua, so any such recording is useful data.

It's absolutely a male of Cupiennius salei [not Olios sp]. Really not a good idea to grab something like this if don't know what it is - for example in other places can be mistaken for those with strong venom, i.e. Phoneutria

I'd say male Frigga pratensis is a far more likely suspect in that zone.

You need to add data on where/when it was found, vital information
