Thank you Leuba! These clams gain a lot of attention in Japan as being a miraculous animal. Many people in Japan believe if you eat them they will strengthen your liver and cure hangovers. They are delicious and remarkable creatures anyway.

In Japan these are called "bowing grass" because it looks like they are bowing when you touch them. Nice!

Believe it or not, this is the same species as the other green Japanese tree frog spotting you have. They can change color to grey/brownish for protection. See the link below:
