A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Thanks, Brian. I have been admiring your butterfly spottings...wonderful shots...an explosion of colour and shapes! I wish I could go out butterfly hunting too...any hunting for that matter. Apart from office I hardly go out these days...so I only get to see my regular birds...however, this one gave me a pleasant surprise by coming down to drink water.
Warblers are difficult to ID (at least for me)...but I hope you can photograph it soon...I am sure it is around.Good luck.
What a strange name...something that is EVER-green is also white! Love it.
Lovely.
I never imagined there were so many different types of figs. Thank you....I learn so much from PN and its çontributors.
I have seen the Grass Demon butterfly caterpillar do this...and it also looks somewhat similar (maybe a related species?)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Udaspes_folus
It may just be....Calletaera obliquata
Caryota urens?

I took the scientific name from where you put it and placed it in the correct box. I hope you do not mind.
The nearest image I found was this: No name though.

I am glad you agree with the ID! We don't have Monarchs in India but the Tiger butterfly is a lookalike...this one looked so similar!
My sister and I feel the same way about the prefix Common (not common to us at all!) ...so she says Commonly seen!
