That there my friend is a young male Painted Turtle. The long front claws distinguish it from a female which have shorter front claws.
Great find and I would agree with Brian Parsons. It is probably a Midland Painted Turtle which is only a subspecies of Painted Turtle.
I love coming across Painted Turtles. They are one of my favourites.
