Definitely in the family Gnaphosidae ... "Ground spiders" ... My guess is Zelotes sp. ...
Definitely a species of water strider
You're welcome. I have raised a few of these from hatchlings to mature adults as pets and they are one of my 3 or 4 favorite tarantula species.
Admittedly, common names often don't count for much, especially with arthropods. Scientific names are all that really matters, bottom line.
Yes ... Except that I added the generally accepted common name, Costa Rican Red Leg Tarantula, as opposed to "Orange Kneed" ... Love these tarantulas ... Have seen them a bajillion times in the wild and have kept a couple as pets, as well ... Anyway, very nice picture ... Nearly all the ones I've ever seen have been living in horizontal burrows into vertical surfaces. Very cool seeing your pic with one with a burrow in what appears to be a mostly horizontal surface. Is that in the reserve?
None of the guesses are correct, so far ... It's either a Citharacanthus sp. or a Phormictopus sp. (but not P. cancerides) ... Looking into it further ...
Excellent. I've always loved the look of that species
Beautiful ... Very cool spotting ...
It's definitely an Avicularia sp. ... Pinktoe Tarantula ...
