No, that's perfect! Thank you so much for your help :)
Oh! You've completely solved my problem actually! This is a species called Black Prince which is found here, apparently the females are this colour and the males are darker. Thank you so much
Oh wow it does look like that! Although distribution doesn't place that species in my area. Strangely I have just caught another one around 3 hours ago which looks the same. I will post a picture of that too. Thank you for your help!
Wow, what a great picture! Thanks!
Ah yes, amazing! Thank you :)
Yes it really does look similar! I'll have a look at its distribution- thank you :)
What a beautiful butterfly! Great picture.
Yes I got some, will put the pictures up shortly!
Also I've done some digging into this, and I think this butterfly might be too small to be the evening brown, as the one I've just caught that is identical to yours was much bigger. I've seen this butterfly the 'Many-Tufted Bushbrown' and it looks similar to this but I don't know if I'm just going a bit butterfly crazy so could do with your opinion? What do you think?

Amazing! It's funny as I have just come back from checking the butterfly traps and found another that looks exactly like the one in your picture!
