They start as really small, but can grow to over a meter. Used to catch these fish a lot in my childhood. They are real strong predators. But don't know if there is a salt water variant. Do you know if it was brakish water? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brackish_wa...

Very common bird in The Netherlands and the rest of W-Europe as well I believe. Definitely this is a Reiger (Dutch for Grey Heron) :)
Look like a pigneon with grey with a green tint, yellow collar. Don't know that one :)
