I did turn her over and see that she was female as I moved her off the path. I didn't notice any distinctive or colorful markings.

Looks like wine berry Scientific name: Rubus phoenicolasius or Japanese raspberry. One of my favorites.

Passion flower. Possibly passionflora incarnata, but would have to see the leaves.
