Sign In to followI don't think this is Cetonia; does not look like scarab beetle... can't see the antennae; but the shape of thorax is wrong, and scutellum is not there.

Thanks Sukanya - actually I think it is the same bird... It made me laugh seeing all the photos in that link. I have a rather similar series of pics of all these geese present in that spot on Geneva lake; and I had the same questioning like the person who posted these. Many thanks, that was really helpful. I don't think this is Ruff - palmated feet, short neck and gull like beak; I'm betting on some juvenile gull...
