The area leads out to a mangrove swamp and then to the ocean so its probably a brackish area.

Yes I think it is an eel. It was near the water's edge where we were pulling up our boat.

Wow! She's a beauty...hope you can relocate her safely. When snakes are shedding they are typically not as active.

Thanks Dan and Ava! I can see peanut-head...although when I spotted them I was thinking alien-head lol. My whole group passed them by...don't see how these guys where huge (~8-10 cm).
