Are you sure it's not an Anna's hummingbird? The range of Broad-tails generally does not extend into the San Diego area, though Anna's are very common in SD.

Is hard to tell from the picture, but looks like a Costa's hummingbird (calypte costae) or perhaps an Anna's hummingbird (calypte anna).

I think it is a female Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher (Polioptila caerulea), but not positive. http://eol.org/pages/1178124/overview

I don't think Ruby-throated hummingbirds travel as far as California, this looks more likely to be an Anna's hummingbird, though I'm not positive of that identification.

apeachg Western tanager

Or it could be a female...but I would agree it is likely a western tanager due to the prominent wing bars.

I couldn't tell if it was a flycatcher or tanager, but I'm leaning towards some type of tanager, as its bill was longer and thicker than many flycatchers, and lacks the flycatcher crest...hmm

I think it's a female house sparrow

This is actually not an oriole, its bill is much thicker than an oriole's, and it looks a bit different to the female orioles we have in the area (mostly hooded). Thanks so much for the suggestion though!
