My name is Ben and I currently live in Wiesbaden. I'm touched by nature's beauty, always on the lookout to capture a glimpse of it...
Wiesbaden, Germany
Sign In to followIt was the first time for me to see it growing in a field in Germany. The flowers are really beautiful. I was wondering if you can still eat it after it bloomed.
Thanks for your comments :)
I thought it was called "Seastar" until I found the Wikipedia entry... hmm
He does indeed! I was happy that I spotted him in the morning and not before going to sleep in the hammock (without a mosquito net). He was quite big, larger than the tarantulas I've seen so far.
Thanks Carolina! It does look like the Orange-winged Amazon.
could be a flower spider (Misumena vatia)

they do look very similar. i'm not 100% sure about the classification but found some similar photos searching the web. do a google picture search for "green bottle fly" to compare
A close-up of the flowers would probably help classify it better. I thought it looked like the Bougainvillea we had in our garden when we were living in Pakistan.
Thanks for the comments! He stole my heart as well :)
I was watching them for over 15 min., at first the little vervet seemed quite astonished but they quickly got used to and where just ignoring me.
