Cool! You got lucky - those are very rare and valuable birds! I believe that even the meat, organs and bones are black or black-ish.
This certainly looks like a black-necked swan, but what on earth is it doing in Mississippi??
It's a brave little moth! I needed to take the recycling bin it was on to the curb over a long gravel/rock driveway, and it didn't show off it's warning markings even after the long, bumpy ride. Sad!
Looks similar to those Gatorfellows, but the color and habitat is off.
Looks like some kind of sawfly larvae, but not sure which.
Could be willet... Did you see them fly? Willets have black wings with white stripes. Otherwise they're kinda nondescript.
