I am a chef and organic gardener of 20+ years. Also an advocate of native/wild edibles, since they often bring more flavor to the plate.

The key to eating the flowers is getting them when starting to wilt, then I am sure they will love them. Flavor ranges from strawberry to melon, my favorite edible wildflower, delicious and beautiful.

I have found a similar organism several times, always growing on scat, will have to dig it up believe I erroneously labeled it fungi.

Hi pam, these are definitely not fungi, you can see their heads, if you categorize it correctly will probably get more help.
