Hi, wow amazing that there are people here looking to id plants in upstate new york. Pretty sure this is a cornellian cherry-
and a plant, although its saprophytic and lacks chlorophyll
well, it might not be flowering now, or it might not flower until it's mature, but it will have some kind of flower at some point, unless you think it's a fern or liverwort with spores (doesn't look like it though)-
hope ya didn't get too close...
i'd say toothwort for the plant front and center, dutchman's breeches for the plant growing in the background. perhaps we can get a picture of the flowers-
i'm think sycamore fruit, but are we identifying that or the small green sprouts?
