That was my thought that it is a stink/shield bug. I don't think it is a brown marmorated, because It looks a little different and I haven't seen them this far north. The are all over in southern Michigan.
Hmmm.. Interesting. I thought it looked a little odd for an ant , but it sure fooled me!
Looking at other pictures, the size seems to vary. I looks more like P. mira vs. P. brevipes just comparing the coloration. Thanks.
You are right. This is something I have always just called a wood tick and assumed it was right. Didn't bother to look into any more than that. The Range is definitely wrong, I will change it, Thanks.
That's seems like a better guess, but the song didn't sound like a savannah. It is very possible that since I didn't get a good visual of it actually singing that I was hearing something else
