Dear Shaaman, thanks a lot for your suggestion. However I do not think that it is that species since the leaves are quite different and I found it in Monte Cofano Sicily. What do you think please?

I believe that this is a species of the genus Euphorbia. Species could be dendroides. This depends on how large the plant was.

Part of my university course was to go out on a vessel and collect plankton. This was one of many species we came across and identified in our samples. :)
