A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
I looked up the word, to see what it was in Swedish. Realized, if it was in northern Finland, they must be in Sweden too, I'd never seen it before and I'm from there! Turned out the word was 'mårdhund', and I have heard that word, but didn't know anything about them. Marvellous ...would love to see one in real life :)
Thank y'all, for the warm welcome! Since I signed up, I've been totally lost in all the fabulous pictures, and learnt a lot too!
It's a wonderful project and I'm glad I found it.
Beautiful bird, and interesting reading about it too, about the tool using. There was a green heron here, a few weeks ago, they even wrote about it in the local paper, but I never got to see it.
What a gorgeous animal! I didn't even know they existed!
What a beauty!!!
Vilken underbar bild! Glimrende! :)
Thank you :) The black colour of it, is interesting to look at when the sun is shining..
Ohh... it's beautiful!!! But so different...
Ordinary Crows here in north America are black. Back home in Sweden, they're gray and black..I have a feeling they're larger too.
I've seen ONE Wood Duck in my whole life, and I was extatic :) It was too far away for a good shot, unfortunately. They're spectacular!
