A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
This heinous insect is an epidemic! It is an alien species to the US and is causing havoc on our produce. i have seen homes covered by them here in Maryland. America needs to wake up to the destructive power of this single insect. Here is a great write up from PennState Entomology: http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets...
Ahh good point, though only feet from the MD border it is not MD.
Oh yes that is it! Thanks +KeithRoragen - Thanks to your reference I researched the Kissing Bug ( http://bugguide.net/node/view/561944 ) - not the same obviously, but it appears they are related. Both considered 'assassin' bugs...
Could it be a Five-lined skink rather the the Broad-headed skink?
Beware this may be a nymph form of the non-native, highly invasive, destructive, difficult to destroy Brown marmorated stink bug.
Thanks to both of you!
