photographing and learning about wildlife
Hello!
This is a very beautiful action shot series! However this bee is not a honey bee--you can tell by the fact that the hind legs have lots of white fuzz. If you are able to post more pictures of this bee, I would love to take a closer look! :)
The wing venation is most suggestive of Anthophora but I cannot tell from this series of pictures--sorry! :P
This carpenter bee is the only large carpenter bee in Hawaii :)
Great shot!
In Florida, the most common Agapostemon is Agapostemon splendens; this looks like it may be one :)
Carpenter bees tend to have much fuzzier hind legs and the abdomen is usually rather shiny :)
There is more than one species of Apis in the Asian islands so I'm not sure which of the honey bees this is :)
This is either Anthophora californica or Anthophora urbana, depending on whether the white stripes are made of white hair or white exoskeletal bands :)
These are fast fliers! Great photo!
This looks almost as likely to be a carpenter bee--what a nice action shot! :D
Actually this is a wasp :)
Unfortunately I don't know which kind...
