This may be in the hawk moth family (Sphingidae). It has a lot of resemblance in morphology to the Army Hawk Moth.

The yellow thing is a strand of immature coffee beans. The big brown thing is a stem of an oil palm leaf.

The common name isn't just one that you give to a plant. It is the name that other people in a region will call it, too. The oriental whip snake is the common name for one kind of snake. It has a scientific name, too (that is used to share among scientists and researchers)
