Just lovely! Is it a fruiting apple tree or a (flowering) crabapple? I'm curious what variety grows and blooms there in California. Must be a low-chill variety (like Anna)?
I almost favorited this again! Instead I'll leave a comment -- my initial reaction is that these look like contact lenses. :)
Some kind of cicada. Brave shot! I even get startled when I find their molted shells in my garden. Not sure how I'd handle this close encounter. :)

Growing up in South Florida, we always called these "banana spiders". I believe they're actually called Golden Silk Orb Weavers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_sil...
