I'm not sure. The leaves look like they could be ginger but the flower/fruit doesn't quite look right. Every ginger I have seen had a dark maroon flower. Also, it's hard to tell from the pictures but, is this a vine? Because ginger is not viney.

Easily my favorite deciduous tree. I love how they shimmer and "quake" in the breeze. Thanks for the great info. I knew that certain willows contained salicin but I didn't know quaking aspen did.
