It looks like a linx spider with a crab spider abdomen. Beautiful critter & photo.
You've found a Limacodid genus larva, but I can't find the exact species. They are the caterpillars of Cup moths, also called Stinging slug moths, for obvious reasons.

It's a type of Ichneumon wasp, that usually parasitizes caterpillars by laying it's eggs in or on them.
Hi, Charlie. I'm going to have to go out & look for these now, as I was under the impression they come later in the year. We have several clusters of them on our property. I love the window effect on the top of the hood designed to confuse the insect into staying in the hood longer, thus spreading more pollen.
