For a word nerd, I am at a loss. To me that is magical. What an intelligent design for survival. Magnificent, nature is.
Bog? How are fens different? (Fen~I like the sound of that word)

Can you tell that some of then were submerged in the flush? (Word usage first time for this meaning!) And, do you think it will die once things dry up? This was the first time I have seen this patch. We have had all the rain California is lacking since Thanksgiving! This area is almost always moist even in summer. But, right now it has standing water due to the massive rain.

That is a good idea for photographs, thanks! Being the word nerd that I am, my new list will be in your name with a slash followed by non-vasculars!

Thanks!! I was combed in thick among the brush! It was an arm length in height above me! I'm going to look that up now! Thanks so much!

In an area of about two blocks near my apartment in Oak Ridge. It is about a three block area left undeveloped. Since the underbrush is still dormant, I was able to squeeze through the thicket. Most all of which is trimmed on the outside with seemingly multitudes of green gorgeous species. In reasonably large areas, it is lavish in a diverse spectrum of green colors and of thickness layers. I did not post all my photos. And, I took one video just to catch the melodious frog chorus.

Thanks!! These are my very, very favorite! They enchant me! My other comment on the Bryum needed major editing, sorry. I get very excited!

Indeed! And, I just read a disturbing thesis from a student at UTK regarding problematic species for golf coarse putting greens. Then again, I am not golf or have money tied to the sport. http://plantsciences.utk.edu/pdf/borst_s... It mentions a Bryum Argenteum

Thanks! I will make corrections. It was a fun muddy day filled with interesting finds. And, any other suggestions please tell me. It helps me learn!
