Definitely a member of Argiope, and the underbelly pattern could be aemula. I really like the pattern on this one.

You can sometimes see Carolinas that far north, and that's what I think it is, too.

Judging by the size and shape of the glands behind the eyes, and the marking on the throat, Bufo americanus. Fowler's usually has smaller glands and a plain white throat.

It's either an American toad or a Fowler's toad. They look pretty similar and can hybridize. Hard to tell from this shot, maybe an expert can weigh in?
