A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
it's from the family cerambycidae, i found one not to long ago in my backyard. they are known as pests, because the larvae eats wood and can make the tree sick and eventually die and fall, and the big problem is you normally don't know the larvae is there until it's too late. after i saw the bug, i went and checked the almond tree in my garden (since the one i found specializes in almond trees) and i saw it's eaten in many places. so if you found it in your backyard, you can try to find which species it was with this website: http://bugguide.net/node/view/171, since i don't know the size of it and back coloration i won't be able to help more.
thanks, i changed it :) we found it in our backyard, and gave it some chicken. the flash of the camera scared him away so that's the only pictures we could get. afterwards he just came out to grab the chicken and ran back under the junk in our yard. we gave it more chicken than his size (around 20 cm, which is the reason he's being pushed out of most of it's habitat area by the larger eastern european hedgehog and is considered vulnerable in israel) so it didn't come out anymore and my dog happily cleaned after him.
thanks, i uploaded it again
