rebekah.wrye.owens Crown of Thorns
Crown of Thorns commented on by rebekah.wrye.owens Surat Thani, Thailand12 years ago

These can be quite variable in size and color according to the habitat- those by Thailand range purple/blue/rose. The thorns are poisonous causing skin rashes if handled. This species feeds on corals, causing reef damage when invasive, but is still a necessary part of the cycle of a healthy reef when native.

Common Welk, Waved Welk Eggs commented on by rebekah.wrye.owens England, United Kingdom12 years ago

These are 'sea wash balls', the egg cases of the common welk. Each capsule holds about 10 tiny welks- this set looks hatched. : )

I'm wrong! It is a leaf-foot!

Unknown spotting commented on by rebekah.wrye.owens North Carolina, USA12 years ago

It does have spiny hairs- and fits the parameters for Robinia hispida. Thank-you!

rebekah.wrye.owens Southwestern Fence Lizard
Southwestern Fence Lizard commented on by rebekah.wrye.owens Arizona, USA12 years ago

This range fits better. Throat coloration is faintly visible, no visible patches or bars that would indicate other types of Sceloporus.
