he was in a bird reserve in Singapore, not too far from the downtown area (i believe the name of the place is the Jurong Bird Park) and i believe it is a species native to that city and in southern malaysia (that is why i marked it as urban) and that it is common around there, but if i am wrong i can edit that out. appreciate any insights you can offer. thanks!

Thanks for the help. I think based on the links you sent & some other pics of same bird I took it is the Livingstone's Turaco (Tauraco livingstonii), which appears to be native to Africa so must have been brought to this sanctuary by humans. thanks!
