Also, Have heard red squirrels in central British Columbia are being forced out of their habitat by an invasion of Grey Squirrels from the coastal areas.

Just posted a red squirrel from the Dwson City area. Interesting to see the slight variatons in markings and colours found in these cute little fellows. Ones here have an almost white belly, while yours is more golden looking.

I dont think it is an amanita as there are no white bumps on the top, posted another species which may be an amanita pantherina but will see.

looks like a species of broomrape, a parasitic plant. Here in Yukon, our species is
Boschniakia rossica a menber of the Orobanchacaea, parasite on green alder

I was in my van and it was running. bears were about 25 feet away. A bear is a bear, as docile and cuddly as they may look, they Are Wild and unpredictable. Better safe than dead:lol
