These bears were once completely wild, but now live a semi wild existence. They were taken from the wild as cubs for entertainment, but rescued and now live in a forest in peace, they are still formidable animals and more dangerous than those that have not had human contact and it was incredible to see them.
There are a lot of stories of maulings here too especially in the spring when the cubs are around and then in the autumn when they are fattening themselves up for winter and come into the villages in search of food.
amazing and yes! I am currently studying bear populations in Transylvania and to be honest most of the time once they see you they turn and run!
