1. Make sure that your actions will not bother the turtle
2. Take a photo of the turtle (from several angles if possible), either in the water or on shore
3. Record information on any tags or tracking devices on the turtle (include color, plastic or metal, numbers or letters, specific location on the animal including left/right/front/back/etc)
4. Record observations on the turtle's health (tumors, injuries, entanglements, etc.)
5. Record observations on the turtle's behavior (basking, swimming, digging, etc.)
6. Record observations on the location of the spotting, time of day, date, weather conditions and ocean conditions
7. Record any other observations as necessary
8. Upload photo to mission
9. Include information collected at spotting site
