One Year - Two Lakes (01 Jul 18 - 30 Jun 19)

One Year - Two Lakes (01 Jul 18 - 30 Jun 19)

1. Please limit spottings to only life forms as described in the project description. 2. Please record only spottings that were seen within the very small border as explained in the project description. 3. Please attempt to spot the same species at least once each month. That way we can follow the physical progress of each species throughout the year and can see which species are resident or just passing by. It will also indicate which species are common there or are rarely seen. 4. PLEASE: always keep to the footpaths. In particular the land between the two lakes is a gravel floor with various grasses and flowers, some of which are rare. There are clearly defined tracks in the gravel but even on those tracks there may be plants or other forms of life that should be protected. Sign in to join mission

The mission photo indicates the exact boundaries of the mission but they were drawn by a navigation app which measured my progress on the footpaths, thus certain areas that immediately border the footpaths are also to be included in the mission, as described in the next paragraph. Immediately outside the shown border are, in places, rows of trees, shrubs and a ditch - all of which (to a maximum of 100 metres) are to be included in the mission. In addition the mission photo shows a light brown patch just outside the south western border. This patch represents a swampy area that is also included in the missions actual boundary. Also, just to the north of the swampy area are 3 horse paddocks - they too are to be included. Anyone who wishes to join the project, no matter how infrequently, are welcome to add spottings of any form of wildlife (excluded are pets and humans!). You can spot anything from an insect, earthworm, mammal, any plant species including trees, rodents, reptiles - any wildlife. The idea is to, whenever possible, record the spottings of the same life form at least once in each month. That will not be possible all year round, summer visiting birds, for example, may not be possible - although you might see a blackcap or chiff chaff in the winter! However, there is nothing to stop you recording a spotting that you only see once in the year. Please use Latin Names for all species - you can add the German or English names in addition if you wish. And PLEASE - be certain of the species or mark it as ID Required - Unknown Spotting.
