Biodiversity of Bangladesh and around
Bangladesh is a wonderful place rich in biodiversity and also lies in a hotspot.
But its richness is poorly recorded and many organisms are already threatened or on the verge of extinction ............................ The purpose of this mission is to document and photograph any organism you have spotted around you in Bangladesh. By doing so, we can at least contribute to the list of all species in Bangladesh and around it.
This will greatly help any scientist or any individual researching on the field.

Bangladesh is a really beautiful place. Though small in size, it is rich in biodiversity. It lies at the beginning of the Indo-Burma Hotspot. Numerous rivers and a tropical location makes it an ideal place for a rich, fertile tropical evergreen forest and also it has the largest Mangrove forest - the Sunderbans. Besides it has rich hill-tract, deciduous, coastal and marine ecosystems ...................................... But its rich natural diversity is very poorly recorded and many more species are yet to be discovered or officially documented and registered. Research on most of the species is very inadequate. Being a developing country with only a handful of skilled persons in this field, the task of recording, documenting and researching on the flora and fauna becomes very tough. Moreover many ecosystems are being quickly destroyed owing to rapid deforestation for farming and plantations, urbanization, growing industries, weak & insufficient government policies and corrupt individuals. Many species might even become extinct before they are discovered ............................................ Therefore it is very necessary to document the existing species and make a list of all of them and take actions to conserve this rich biodiversity before it's too late.
