Hawksbills - Worldwide Distribution Map

Hawksbills - Worldwide Distribution Map

Students worldwide will use the country listing from the IUCN website to locate national environmental agencies from those countries charged with the responsibility of tracking and protecting the Hawksbill turtle populations. Students will gather data from countries that host Hawksbill nesting sites, as well as the Hawksbill Turtle conservation groups which OPEN will help students connect with to gather their most recent Hawksbill population estimates. Students will then collaborate together through PN and OPEN websites - www.oneplaneteducation.com to begin to fill in the world map of IUCN to help create a global Hawksbill turtle population distribution map, with country by country data subsets. Please stay tuned for more information here and from the new OPEN website where we will be posting the Hawksbill education game online curriculum and details for this OPEN PN Global Citizen Science project for students.
