World wide honeybees

World wide honeybees

This mission is open to everyone, over the whole world If you are a beekeeper, you are welcome to describe your bees here. How many colonies you've got, the breed and their behaviour and such. If you are not (yet ;)) a beekeeper, you still might get visits by them from time to time. If you catch them on camera, please upload them here, and with the data you know. Good luck!

This mission has ended and is no longer accepting submissions.

(Please correct me if I'm wrong) There are about 20 000 known bee-species around the world. About 250 are represented in Sweden. Not all of them are honeybees ofcourse. The bee is about to become endangered. That goes for the bred honeybee as well, because of pollution and large scale monotonous crops. The bee is one of the most important species for the global pollination. I am a newbie beekeeper going on my third year with Buckfast bees here in Sweden. I am very much interrested in what goes on with bees and beekeeping in the rest of the world. Would you like to help me collect the data?
