Photo take at -40 ft in a Caribbean reef. Small stingray growing no more than 36 cm. It has a nearly circular pectoral fin disc slightly longer than wide, with a short, obtuse snout. The eyes are immediately followed by the spiracles. There is a narrow curtain of skin between the nostrils, with a fringed posterior margin. The mouth is nearly straight and contains a transverse row of 3–5 papillae on the floor. The tail is stout and flattened, comprising less than half the total length, and terminates in a small, leaf-shaped caudal fin about a quarter high as long. Wonderful!
I don't have words to express how much I love these photos!!!
Great spot! I don't dive but I have "petted" stingrays at the Georgia aquarium & they are very friendly & seem to enjoy the human contact.
