Cherokee Brave Flowering Dogwood

Cornus florida 'Cherokee Brave'

Description:

Cherokee Brave Flowering Dogwood will grow to be about 30 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 35 feet.

Habitat:

Native North American species

Notes:

This is a relatively low maintenance tree, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season's flowers. It is a good choice for attracting birds to your yard. Flowering Dogwood does best horticulturally in moist, acidic soil in a site with some afternoon shade, but good morning sun. They will "sun burn" if planted in late hot afternoon sun areas. Dogwood trees do not like having their roots disturbed and respond poorly to fall transplanting.
