Description:

A juvenile south island saddleback sighted on one of the predator free islands from the walking track. Juveniles are all brown as in the picture and lack the characteristic saddle pattern acquired by the adults.

Habitat:

Native bush

Notes:

The is a total of about 650 of the South Island subspecies left. (See D.O.C. ref)
