Wolf spider
Hi Michelle! As RedHead2 has suggested this is most probably a wolf spider of some kind though it is impossible to be exact with the species as there isn't enough detail here. Possible either a Dotted wolf spider (Rabidosa punctulata), a Rabid wolf spider (Rabidosa rabida) or Schizocoza avida - all of which are similarly striped. It isn't a Carolina wolf spider though as this species has a more rounded abdomen which is patterned rather than striped.
I suggest you just use Wolf spider as the common name & "Lycosidae sp." for the scientific name as we can't be certain which species without a more detailed photo.
I have moved this to arthropods for you.
looks more like a thin legged wolf spider. carolina wolf spiders only distinction is size.
Most certainly a Carolina Wolf Spider! Love these things! They are fun to keep in captivity.
