Anacacho orchid tree

Bauhinia lunarioides

Description:

Small deciduous tree with leaves deeply divided into two leaflets about 1" across. Delicate white flowers of about 1" , appear shortly after the leaves come out.

Habitat:

Full sun to partial shade. Drought tolerant and likes alkaline, well draining soil.

Notes:

This species grows in the wild only in the Anacacho Hills west of Uvalde, Tx.
