Anoplodonta nigrirostris
Tiny 3-4mm long fly.
Meadow.
Thanks Tamar!
Karen, I think this IS a Soldier Fly. The Y shaped antennae help identify it as such. Similar markings and body shape to Anoplodonta nigrirostris: http://bugguide.net/node/view/474123General info from Bugguide:http://bugguide.net/node/view/6994

Thanks Jack! We are blessed with such a vast array of flies, beetles & bugs around here & hardly any of them seem to be in my guides!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldier_fly... This is a link to soldier flies, which compose of 1500 species. It does not look like a soldier fly to me...but who knows? :)
Thanks Francis!
