Texas Lantana

Lantana urticoides. (L. Horrida)

Description:

Small shrub that may have tiny spines. 1 1/2 - 3ft. Deciduous. Leaves are egg shaped to nearly round, have a rough surface, are wrinkled, and give off a strong scent that some people think is horrid, and others like. Flowers spring to fall when weather is hot. Each flowerhead is made up of several tiny flowers that start off yellow and turn to orange as they age.

Habitat:

Sun to part shade. Drought tolerant. Various soils, well-drained.
