According to BOA it is American Lady, which is in my opinion the better taxon than American Painted Lady, which is often used and probably not wrong, but not really "correct", since the Painted Lady is a completely different species and American Painted Lady may be confusing. Cynthia is an older, outdated name (like for example Nymphalis cardui).

It is the other one, Vanessa virginiensis. Look at the ventral view, Virginiensis has only 2 big spots whereas Cardui has 4 smaller spots:
